AMU Summit 2026: Exclusive speakers you don’t want to miss
Written by Stephanie Ritenbaugh
In less than one month, AMU will kick off its first Aluminum Summit in Atlanta.
If you’ve signed up already, we’re looking forward to seeing you in August. And if you haven’t registered yet, don’t miss out on a packed agenda and exclusive interviews.
Taking place Aug. 24–26 in Atlanta, the event will run side by side with SMU Steel Summit, hosted by our ferrous sister publication, Steel Market Update.
And that means one ticket will get you access to both conferences. That’s two events for the price of one!
Here’s a look at what’s in store:
Keynote by Lawrence D. Burns, co-author of Autonomy: The Quest to Build The Driverless Car — And How It Will Reshape Our World, will speak about maturing and emerging technology and its impact on the aluminum and steel industries.
Fireside chat with Barry Schneider, president and COO of Steel Dynamics Inc., featuring discussions on the company’s growing aluminum operations, Aluminum Dynamics Inc.
Keynote panel featuring Joe Quinn of Securing America’s Future Energy (SAFE), Charles Johnson of the Aluminum Association, and Jean Simard of the Aluminum Association of Canada to discuss trade, tariffs and geopolitics and the redrawing of the supply chain in North America.
Service Center Executive Keynote with John Ganem, CEO, Kloekner Metals, to discuss the view from the middle of the supply chain.
Aluminum prices and Midwest premiums with Timna Tanners, managing director research, Wells Fargo.
And that’s just a sample of what AMU has lined up for the conference. You can find out more here.
We can’t wait to see you there!
