The parent company of Ardagh Metal Packaging (AMP) said the business may be up for sale to a third party.

Luxembourg-based Ardagh Holdings SA said the company may sell some or all of its equity interests indirectly held in the packaging business, in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Any further steps will require the approval of the board of directors, the company said in an announcement.

The metal packaging business makes up more than half of Ardagh’s operations. AMP operates 23 metal beverage can production facilities in nine countries, employing about 6,500 people. The business recorded sales of about $5.5 billion in 2025.

Ardagh’s glass packaging business consists of about 35 production facilities generating about $4.1 billion in revenue in 2025.

Ardagh Group also holds a 42% interest in Trivium Packaging, which supplies sustainable metal packaging to the food & specialty and personal care markets.

The company said it has not set a deadline for the completion of the potential sale, “and there can be no assurance that this process will result in any transaction or particular outcome.”

In its most recent earnings call, AMP upgraded its full–year 2026 EBITDA guidance to a range of between $775 million to $790 million. The new range is up from a range of $750 million to $775 million.
