Written by Stephanie Ritenbaugh
Constellium Automotive USA in Georgia is laying off about half of its workforce.
The company said the elimination of 57 of its 99 positions is permanent, according to a Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification (WARN) filed with the state Department of Labor. Jobs include operator, material handler, maintenance technician, quality manager, EHS specialist, operations supervisor, and shift supervisor. The employees are not represented by a union.
The facility in White, Georgia, opened in 2017 and produces advanced aluminum automotive structural components and crash management systems.
The company did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
