Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) has reached the halfway point in the Al Taweelah restart, with 631 of the smelter’s 1,262 reduction cells back in operation.
EGA said Oct. 21 that restoration work continues across all three potlines at the Abu Dhabi smelter. The company still expects Al Taweelah to return to full production during the first quarter of 2027.
Recycler forward views shifted toward undersupply in October even as Midwest Premium and UBC expectations moved lower.
