LME aluminum prices return to pre-conflict levels
Written by Nicholas Bell
The London Metal Exchange’s aluminum cash settlement has returned to levels last seen before the US-Iran conflict began in February. Meanwhile, exchange warehouse inventories have decreased by half, and the cash-to-three-month contango has narrowed substantially.
The LME aluminum cash settlement fell to $3,055 per metric ton on Oct. 12. Monday’s settlement is the lowest level since Feb. 13, when the settlement stood at $2,996 per metric ton.
