Novelis has laid off about one third of its workforce at its Kingston, Ontario, plant in response to US tariffs.
The aluminum manufacturer said about 10 salaried workers and 70 hourly workers were affected. It’s the second round of layoffs at the facility that the company attributes to tariffs. Staff was also cut in June 2025 as well.
