    Etobicoke Casting Plant faces Stellantis strike risk

    Reporting on the stalled Stellantis-Unifor negotiations has largely centered on the Brampton Assembly Plant, which has been idle since December 2023. Yet, another facility covered by the same labor agreement has received considerably less attention: the Etobicoke Casting Plant.

    Unifor, Canada’s largest private sector union, with more than 320,000 members across the country, decided Oct. 6 to proceed with a strike authorization vote. That move has kept the closed Brampton Assembly Plant in Ontario, Canada, at the center of the Stellantis dispute. Voting is scheduled for Oct. 17-18, with results expected Oct. 19.
