    Q3 US auto sales shift toward Honda, Toyota

    Q3 US auto sales moved in different directions among five major manufacturers during the third quarter.

    Combined sales for General Motors (GM), Toyota Motor North America, Ford, American Honda and Stellantis totaled 2.53 million vehicles, down 1.5% from a year earlier. Underneath the combined decrease, sales shifted between manufacturers. Honda posted the largest percentage increase of the five, while Toyota edged higher. GM and Ford lost volume, while Stellantis finished almost unchanged.
