Emirates Global Aluminium (EGA) signed an agreement with Gulftainer to expand its UAE east coast route, adding export capacity outside the Strait of Hormuz.
Under the agreement, EGA will route up to 250,000 metric tons of aluminum from the UAE’s east coast during the first year. The volume will increase to as much as 300,000 metric tons in the second year.
Rio Tinto will exclusively market billet from RevoCast’s new British Columbia plant under a long-term agreement combining primary and recycled aluminum.
The USITC found Chinese van-type trailer imports materially injured the US industry, clearing the way for AD/CVD orders as separate Canada and Mexico cases continue.
The Midwest premium could slip if Canada reroutes primary back to the US. But the balance in supply would still be coming from other countries, likely the Persian Gulf.
Recycler forward expectations swung toward oversupply in September as inventory drawdowns eased and export demand lost August’s improving responses.
