Written by Nicholas Bell
Hydro broke ground Oct. 27 on a new Cressona extrusion press, starting a $53.5 million project at its Pennsylvania plant. The company expects the 5,900-tonne indirect line to begin operating in the first quarter of 2028. It will replace extrusion equipment dating to the 1950s.
The project extends a series of equipment investments at Cressona. The company lists nine presses at Cressona, including two 2,900-ton units, with rated force ranging up to 6,000 tons.
