Court upholds Oregon's packaging law as more states consider similar recycling rules

A federal judge recently upheld Oregon’s 2021 recycling law as constitutional, describing the state as showing “innovative leadership” in attempting to reduce packaging pollution.

The Aug. 27 decision on the Plastic Pollution and Recycling Modernization Act rejected claims by the National Association of Wholesaler-Distributors that the law is unconstitutional and harms business operations.
